Jonathan Willcocks has been awarded a medal of the order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to music.
He says, “I am so delighted to receive this public honour. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity over nearly fifty years of working with so many fine choirs, orchestras and other music organisations (both amateur and professional) and I hope that this little ‘moment in the sun’ for me will provide further encouragement to others to enjoy all that music-making can bring.”
Jonathan is currently Musical Director of the Guildford Choral Society, the Chichester Singers, the Leith Hill Musical Festival and the professional chamber orchestra Southern Pro Musica. He’s President of the Petersfield Musical Festival.
